Bacote v. Federal Bureau of Prisons is a suit filed about two months ago (18 June 2012) by eleven prisoners (five plaintiffs, six ‘interested individuals’) against the high-security prison ADX Florence, also known as “Supermax”, for gross mistreatment of mentally ill prisoners. The full complaint and exhibits and litigation factsheet and prisoner profiles can both be found at http://www.supermaxlawsuit.com/ alongside various media references.
The best summary of the case seems to be three articles, in The Atlantic, by Andrew Cohen: “An American Gulag: Descending into Madness at Supermax”, “Supermax: The Faces of a Prison’s Mentally Ill”, and “Supermax: The Constitution and Mentally Ill Prisoners”.
(Unless otherwise credited, all citations are to the complaint and exhibits document.)

Don’t like it? Don’t reblog! -_-
Sometimes it seemed to her that the Lord Protector was two people. He was Petyr, her protector, warm and funny and gentle… but he was also Littlefinger, the lord she’d known at King’s Landing, smiling slyly and stroking his beard as he whispered in Queen Cersei’s ear. And Littlefinger was no friend of hers. Littlefinger never lifted so much as his little finger for her.
Littlefinger was only a mask he had to wear. Only sometimes Sansa found it hard to tell where the man ended and the mask began. Littlefinger and Lord Petyr looked so very much alike.

People who say things like, “You who call yourselves ‘demisexual’ just want to be Special Snowflakes! Many people are like this and don’t feel the need to make up words!” are missing the point. The experience of being sexually attracted only after being emotionally…
Uhh, yeah, okay…
I hate that rhyme. I really do. It not only trivializes, but completely dismisses the impact that words have on us. Whether good or bad, words are important. They affect us. They matter.
The only way I can properly support this is to do so through…

Attention: Everyone that is Facebook friends with me. The they’re/there/their issue drives me insane. Your English teachers don’t sleep at night because of this.
I will never not reblog this.
Damnit, the Oatmeal is partly wrong. Several of these are usage issues, not spelling issues.
